At Whispering Springs Haven guests enjoy total privacy and seclusion within our 102 acre private wildlife refuge. Perfect for romantic getaways, small families, artists & nature lovers seeking simplicity & casual luxury void of distractions - yet just 3 miles from the scenic Elk River Water Trail canoeing and kayaking, and minutes from Sutton Lake beaches and marina, Gassaway and historic Sutton's art district galleries, shops, dining and entertainment.
Nestled within a beautiful valley at the head of a hollow, at the head of 3 rushing creeks, guests experience peaceful days & starry nights within immense natural beauty. Explore our wildlife pond, waterfalls and natural sitting pools. Hike our private low-impact trails to our mountaintop vistas. Wildlife habitats surround our smoke-free chalet/cabin - the 'Hummingbird House', filled with natural light & cool mountain breezes. Every room has a view.

Our peaceful, remote haven is available for private vacation rentals, art studio rentals, getaways and honeymoons. To enhance your vacation experience, we will help you design a private custom retreat featuring fine arts & crafts lessons, holistic wellness, therapeutic massage services and nature studies by independent licensed and certified practitioners in the comfort of our haven. Additional fees apply.
Designed to sleep 2 - 6 persons comfortably, our rates are based on 2 adults or a family of 4 defined as 2 adults and 2 children up to 15 years old. Additional per person fees apply. We also welcome 1 person. Our haven is perfect for artists, writers, & musicians seeking studio space or one seeking spiritual growth.
We are centrally located within the Mountain Lakes Region - We are near the head waters of the Elk River and
3 miles from Elk River Water Trail access. 10 miles to Historic Sutton Arts District and Gassaway and Sutton Lake beaches. 24 miles to scenic Summersville Lake. 1 hour from New River and Gauley River white water, zip lining and extreme outdoor recreation and events. Just 1 hour north of Charleston, 1 hour south of Morgantown, WV University.
